Big brand retailer B&M has revealed the opening date of its new store in Gravesend town centre, creating 70 jobs.
The branch in New Road is getting ready for a big reveal to the public on Thursday, October 13.
The building that once homed Marks & Spencer has been completely transformed to cater for the discount store which offers branded and own-label toys, food and homeware.
It follows on from the loss of dozens of jobs when BHS - in the building next door - shut for good on Sunday, August 31. Claire’s Accessories, opposite B&M, also closed down last weekend.
The franchise has recently opened in Ashford and Dover, creating more than 200 jobs across the county.

Carl Russell, the new B&M store manager, said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door next month.”
In anticipation of the grand opening, B&M has launched a search to find a Gravesend hero to help officially open the store.
The lucky winner will not only cut the ribbon but will be given a £250 voucher.
Heroes can be nominated by family, friends and colleagues alike.
Nominations are being accepted until Friday, September 30 and can be sent via email to communications@bmstores.co.uk, or in writing to Communications, B&M Retail, The Vault, Dakota Drive, Estuary Commerce Park, Speke, Liverpool, L24 8RJ.
