A body has been found in the search for a missing 29-year-old.

George Passmore was last seen walking in the Coldharbour Road area of Gravesend at about 11.25am on Sunday (December 29).

He was also spotted in the Singlewell Road area of the town earlier that day but had not been seen since.

Police officers have since confirmed a body has been recovered this morning (December 31) near Istead Rise.

Residents living nearby reported seeing several police cars and ambulances in the area and said crews were searching in nearby fields.

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

His family have been informed.
