A former bomb disposal expert is due in court today accused of trying to murder his pregnant wife and eight-year-old son in a car explosion.

Nicholas Fabian (pictured right, courtesy of Ferrari Press) also faces charges of possessing ammunition.

It follows an explosion in Vigo near Gravesend in March.

The 32-year-old, of High View, is due to enter pleas to the charges at Maidstone Crown Court later.

Fabian's wife Victoria, 32, suffered serious leg injuries in the incident in a car park in the village of Vigo on March 5.

Both her son and unborn child escaped unharmed.
