A young boy who cut his head open after falling on a ramp at the Cyclopark in Gravesend has been named.
Nine-year-old Dylan was in the skateboarding area of the park on Saturday afternoon when the accident happened.
He suffered a head injury and the air ambulance was called but, after being treated by paramedics, the youngster was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham by road.
Today, park management revealed Dylan had been released from hospital and confirmed he was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the accident.
Spokesman Simon Jones said: “We spoke to the boy’s parents yesterday and are happy to confirm that after treatment and a short stay at Medway Maritime Hospital, Dylan, aged nine, is back home and well on the way to making a full recovery.
“Cyclopark has strict rules in place for the use of the skate park, including a compulsory rule on the wearing of helmets. We also have professionally trained staff on hand at all times who can react quickly and effectively to accidents.
"Without a helmet the injuries could have been significantly worse, a message we are also keen to enforce to young people outside of the park.
“We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and hope to see him back at the park soon."
The multi-sport open-air venue off Wrotham Road is popular with young skaters and also has a BMX track, mountain bike trails a children’s play area and more.
At the time of the accident youngsters and adults were taking part in the MedwayTri Junior and Adult Duathlon in another part of the park.
