A young boy suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car in Gravesend on Tuesday (June 5) evening.

The youngster, believed to be 12 years old, was involved in a collision in Valley Drive near the junction with Livingstone Road just before 6pm.

Kent Air Ambulance attended but the boy was transferred by road to the major trauma centre at King's College Hospital in London.

He was accompanied in the ambulance by a doctor and critical care paramedic from the air ambulance service.

A police spokesman said today (Thursday) that he remains in hospital but is in a stable condition.

No arrests have been made but police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
