Superleague Formula will compete at Brands Hatch for the first time in August
Brands Hatch have revealed their 2010 event line-up with Superleague Formula and BikeRadar Live added to the calendar for this season.
Following extensive track work at Brands Hatch over the winter, including resurfacing more than half the Indy circuit, the two events will be making their debut.
Superleague Formula by Sonangol, a fusion of football and motor-racing, will compete on the Grand Prix circuit on August 1, replacing A1GP.
Identical V12-powered single seaters representing football teams including Tottenham and Liverpool will go head-to-head over three races, including a ‘dash-for-cash’ shootout for the front-running teams.
Brands Hatch will also embrace pedal power in 2010 with the addition of cycling festival BikeRadar Live to the calendar in late July.
The event will feature an all-weather stunt display, dirt jump and dual slalom competitions, a cycling film festival and a specially designed Expo where riders can purchase new accessories or test ride new bikes around the Indy circuit.
Several international championships will return to the Kent venue this season, including a double headline meeting from the FIA World Touring Car and Formula 2 Championships on July 17/18. Brands Hatch will also host the only UK round of the DTM German Touring Car Championship in September.
In addition, the 2010 season features two visits from the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship – starting with a four day season opener over Easter weekend – and the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, including an outing on the Grand Prix circuit during early May Bank Holiday weekend.
Other highlights include two Truck Superprix meetings in April and October, the Masters Historic Festival for classic sports cars, saloons and single seaters over late May Bank Holiday weekend, and a round of the FIA Historic Formula One Championship at the HSCC Superprix in early July.
There will also be more than 15 club level car and bike meetings between March and November, including the Formula Ford Festival in October.
Brands Hatch will also host two races in the dark this year: the Britcar ‘into the night’ race and the new Lotus Elise Trophy 1000km endurance event, both of which will take place in November.
Tickets are now on sale for all 2010 events, whilst a Brands Hatch season pass – guaranteeing entry to all race meetings at the Kent circuit this year – is available for £225.
