Brands Hatch launch new season Picture: MSVR
Brands Hatch unveiled plans for its biggest-ever season on Tuesday at their annual media day.
Motorsport Vision Racing, the racing division of MSV who operate the circuit, outlined an expanded calendar of 34 race events.
Chief executive Jonathan Palmer said: "It's quite easy to think that motor racing is dominated by the big events, but I think in many ways the club racing scene is a much better indication of the economic health of motorsport, and actually that health is very good indeed.
"Competitors want better value than ever and that's quite right. They want quality of events, efficient timetables, quality of racing and it's the achievement of it that is a significant factor in the success of MSVR."
Amongst the other announcements were new series, from the extension of the Champion of Brands competition for Formula Ford cars to the new European-wide Super Series.
The successful Golf GTI Championship has led to a new category for Mk IV Golf GTI and TDI models, whilst Lotus Cup UK has expanded to include Production and Supersport championships and Radical sportscars will hold the Radical European Masters in conjunction with the FIA.
A new two-wheeled series was also unveiled for novice riders - the Club MSV Bike Trackday Trophy.
