Brave runners complete the course

Despite the soaring temperatures determined runners from north Kent managed to complete the London Marathon on Sunday - with sunburn being the most serious injury sustained.

Former boxer Ian Honeywood, of Main Road, Sutton-at-Hone, completed the 26.2mile course for the sixth time, and said this year was “the worst ever”.

Finishing in just under five hours, he said: “It was so hot and I got really sunburned, but I managed to get round.”
