Newly-crowned British Truck Racing champion Stuart Oliver dominated proceedings at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
The opening Class A race was fought in the wet and led to an early conclusion after Frenchman Manuel Rodrigues destroyed a tyre wall. Oliver had already seen his main challenger, Matt Summerfield, spin out of contention.
Oliver fought off Chris Levett to win the second race.
West Kingsdown truck racers Steven Powell and Oscar Clark were competing in the Class B category. Powell, in his Ford Cargo, finished both races in fourth, while Volvo FL10 racer Clark made up for a non-finish in race one by clinching eighth in race two.
In the Dunlop Motorsport News Saloon Car Championship, Rod Birley – also from West Kingsdown – clocked up win number 500 in his Ford Escort.
Jonathan Palmer, chief executive of the owners of Brands, MSV, presented Birley with a commemorative trophy and said: “It’s particularly special that Rod has been able to celebrate this milestone at his home circuit.”
