A 90-year-old woman has been burgled at her retirement home in Meopham.
Police are appealing for information after the theft on Wednesday at about 9.30pm.
The elderly woman was sitting in her room in Chinnery Court on Wrotham Road, when she became aware of two men standing beside her chair.
One of the men told her they were security staff and they left.
After they left, the woman pressed her emergency call button and realised £300 in cash, along with her Post Office card, debit card and a change purse, had disappeared.
Police were called to the address and determined the offenders had broken into the communal area of the home.
One of the offenders was described as white, aged 30-35, with a medium build and southern accent.
He is thought to have been approximately 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a grey hat that fastened down the side.
North Division Detective Constable Sasha Monck said: "This was a nasty attack on a vulnerable lady by opportunistic burglars."
