Eight buildings in Gravesend town centre were without power this morning after an electricity fault last night.
The outage affected a number of shops in New Road, with some unable to open this morning.
The fault came after the underground electricity network interrupted supplies at 7.40pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman for UK Power Networks said: “Engineers are working as quickly and as safely as possible to restore electricity supplies to eight customers in New Road, Gravesend.”
Engineers worked through the night on the fault attempting to repair the underground electricity network.
UK Power Networks apologised for any inconvenience caused.
The stretch of shops included Game, Warren James, Burger King, Greggs, Lloyds Bank, EE and Barclays.
Greggs was open but with limited items on sale.
Just before 2.15pm, UK Power Networks said: "Our engineers have been able to divert electricity around the faulty part of the network restoring power to some customers."
The last two properties had power back on at 12.30am on Saturday.
