A young man who died after falling from the top of a multi-storey car park in a Kent town has been identified by police.

John Day, 20, of Grange Road, Gravesend, was killed when he plunged from Thamesgate Shopping Centre in the town at around 7pm last Tuesday (May 6).

He was taken to Darent Valley Hospital but died later.

An inquest into the death was opened and adjourned on Friday.
