Police are hunting a driver after a car carrying six people careered off the road and plunged into a 15m ditch.
The crash, which happened in London Road, Swanscombe at about 10.30pm last night, left two people seriously hurt and a further three with minor injuries.
Emergency crews had to rescue a man aged in his 60s, who was trapped in the wreckage of the car.
Firefighters used winches to lift the car out of the ditch and hydraulic cutting gear to free the man.
A police spokesman said the car contained six people. Two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries, while three others were treated at the scene.
Inquiries are ongoing to locate the driver, who is believed to have left the scene. The police helicopter was also called to help with the search.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 10.30pm on 5 February to London Road, Swanscombe, to a road traffic collision after it was reported a car had overturned.
"Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver, who is believed to have left the scene."
The road was closed in both directions between Craylands Lane and Knockhall Road.
