The facility also includes a bistro, beauty salon, dining areas for family gatherings, and a 24-hour manned reception to provide round-the-clock support and security for residents.

Belmont Healthcare, which runs the care home, hopes the new features will ensure everyone living with dementia feels at home while elevating care standards in the community.

Managing director of the care company, Adam Hutchison added: “This project is an inspiring example of how we can reimagine care for those living with dementia, creating spaces that not only offer security but also enhance quality of life.

The new wing was officially opened by the Mayor of Gravesham Cllr Daniel Adewale King in a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.

Work to fully redevelop the 120-bed care home, in Wombwell Gardens, is still ongoing with phase two expected to start this month.
