When it comes to appearing on television, the Salernos are certainly making their mark.
The Italian family – who own Il Padrino restaurant in Stone Street, Gravesend – made their debut on BBC Two’s The Restaurant Man in 2014. Tony and wife Megan then travelled across Europe in Coach Trip in 2015 and now two of their children have followed in their footsteps.
Michelina-Lucia and brother Enzo signed up for the new series of Coach Trip: Road to Ibiza with the hope of making it to the final, but the double act only made it as far as Barcelona.

The television show sees couples join a coach trip, stopping off at numerous places to take part in challenges, but then vote each other off. The most popular people stay on board the longest.
Mum Megan said: “I was hoping they would last longer than us. It seems to be a family tradition now. It’s funny because they even sat in the same seats as us on the coach.”
The brother-sister duo entered the trip on day five, being held back by producers to create fireworks on screen. Being known to the creators, the duo skipped past auditions and knew they were going to appear on the entertainment come reality show from the outset.
Coach Trip has had a makeover. The programme has moved from Channel 4 to E4 with a later show time of 7.30pm and has been taken over by the producers of Made in Chelsea, The Only Way is Essex and Ex on the Beach. Michelina said: “When we first got on the coach we were completely oblivious to everyone’s back-story and the friendship groups that had already formed. We were outsiders and the rest of the contestants would just make nasty comments.”
The Salerno siblings claim that three couples had already created a Whatsapp phone messaging group called the ‘Coach Trip Originals’ determining the outcome of the vote.
Michelina said they were bullied over their appearance and even a Segway accident which saw Enzo fall head first over the vehicle on the top of a mountain.

Since filming the show in May, they have been contacted by television agencies who are interested in the family for future reality shows.
While Michelina is keen to follow her new path in reality TV, Enzo said: “I’ll be taking more of a lead role in the family business. If another show was to come my way then great, it was fun, but I’ll be staying in the restaurant kitchen for now.”
