What is billed as the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will take place on Friday, and Marks and Spencer in Bluewater is doing its bit to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
From 9am to noon, cafe manager Liz Wills will host activities including a baking competition, offering a £250 M&S gift card to the winner.
Children’s entertainment will offer a chance for youngsters to decorate their own biscuits and cakes.
Early shoppers will be greeted to a free shot of coffee and can make their way to the pamper bar to be treated to a soothing hand massage.
M&S will boost funds by donating 50p for every coffee sold and from specially commissioned pin badges and Macmillan’s Little Book of Treats which features recipes from supporters and celebrities.
Others taking place today in Gravesend include: Gravesend library from 1.30pm; Barclays on New Road; and St Joseph's Preparatory School on Old Road East.
In Dartford there are coffee mornings taking place at Nationwide Building Society on Hythe Street; Barclays bank on Lowfield Street; Healthy Living Centre Dartford at St Edmunds Church on St Edmunds Road; and Hesketh Park Bowls Club Pavilion on Park Road.
