Taking a huge leap of faith towards your self-employed dream can be nerve-racking, but Zack and Sophia Jones did just that when they quit their jobs three years ago to start up Urban Staff Solutions Ltd.
The company has been successful in providing temporary staff to the highways industry as well as stewards and security to some of the UK’s largest festivals and sporting events.
The firm in All Saints Road, Gravesend, now covers an area of Greater London, Essex, Kent and the Midlands with contracts.
About other services on offer, Mr Jones said: “We can also provide customers with exceptional candidates for a number of warehouse and logistics operations, including licensed forklift truck drivers, experienced order pickers and packers and general warehouse operatives and labourers.
“Our temporary staff can be involved in anything from unloading stock and moving it into the warehouse for storage, right through to the order picking of client-specific orders, quality checking.”
The company now offers office staff whether an ultra-organised PA, a secretary with superior typing skills or an experienced finance manager to keep the books in check.
The company was one of many who entered the Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards, which are now in their 10th year.
They are supported by the Messenger, and each entrant gets a free profile in our papers and on our website.
This year’s award sponsors were Dartford council, Gravesham council, Barnes Roffe, Kent Business School (University of Kent), the KM Group (Dartford Messenger and Gravesend Messenger), Lloyds Bank, Thomson Snell and Passmore, Edinburgh House, University of Greenwich and Mid Kent College.
