Coroner names Bluewater shopper, 71

The North Kent Coroner, Roger Hatch, has opened and adjourned an inquest into the death of a woman who died after being injured in a Bluewater car park.

His office today named the victim as Claire Bishop, 71, of Romney Gardens, Bexleyheath.

She suffered extensive injuries when she was struck by a car in the Blue car park behind the Marks and Spencer store on January 4.

The car also collided with four vehicles.

Both Mrs Bishop and a second woman at the scene were taken to hospital.

Mrs Bishop was admitted to King's College Hospital, London, but died the following week.

Police investigations are continuing.
