Major events in Gravesham will be covered by the council and streamed live on the internet.
The first of these was last week’s pancake race along New Road which allowed people to log on to Ustream and see the event live.
The stream was successful though certain parts did not record. What was recorded has since been uploaded as highlights to YouTube.
A council spokesman said: “We’ve had video capability for about six years and have been uploading to our YouTube site for that time and have received about 33,000 hits.
“It was then said that we should start broadcasting some meetings and we’ve done a few of those before - a couple of planning meetings and annual council.
"We’ll likely do that again for things like the Heritage Quarter and Paramount park meetings.
“Our IT manager said it would be cheaper to buy the kit and do it ourselves rather than hiring it in.
“The pancake race proved it could be done and we plan to broadcast the St George’s Day parade and Party on the Prom. This is just another method of communicating.”
The show was presented by entertainer and Three Daws pub barman Dan Snelgrove who provided a running commentary and conducted interviews.
