If you’re aged between 16 and 24 and fancy yourself as an entrepreneur, then Gravesham council wants to hear from you.
The Interface Experience is a project designed to help young people onto the career ladder by running a youth market at Gravesend’s market hall when it reopens later this year, with eight council apprentices already involved.
Leading the project is 18-year-old Toby Gilhooly, who is one of the council’s business support apprentices.
He said: “We’re looking for young people who want to be involved in our new youth market and to make good use of this market as a platform to inspire them towards greater business activity.
“Whatever their business idea, this may be the opportunity they need to kick-start their business and to experience trading, many for the first time.”
Cllr Jordan Meade, the council’s cabinet member for tourism and young people, added: “We are pleased with the expressions of interest that we have received to date from young people, but we welcome more.
“We really want to support our young people in the borough and we feel that a youth market is one way we can do this. This has never been done before in Gravesham so we’re really keen to get the word out and inspire our young entrepreneurs.”
