Traffic was gridlocked after a crash involving a double decker bus and two lorries on the A2.
It happened just after 9am in Watling Street, on the London-bound carriageway near the junction for Gravesend West.
Police, fire crews, and paramedics were sent to the scene.
Firefighters had to free one casualty using hydraulic rescue equipment, so paramedics could safely being treating them.
Police spokesman James Walker said: "The incident is reported to have involved two lorries and a bus and officers are in attendance alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
"There are no reports of any serious injuries however the road is obstructed and motorists are advised to expect delays. "
Shattered glass was left strewn across the road.
Three of the four lanes were closed but the road fully reopened at around 12.15pm.
There is no suggestion the bus driver was to blame, but in a tweet police said: "Remember people, keep your distance from the vehicle in front."
It is believed the bus involved was the 700 service from Chatham to Bluewater via Rochester and Strood.
