Nearly £500 has been collected in less than a day after an arson attack which has seen a young mother and her son made homeless.
Kayleigh Cooper, 19, said she's been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of people after her flat was completely decimated.
Neighbours also pulled together to collect some emergency clothes for her and her son Harley, nearly three, and people are also donating furniture for when she is able to get into a new home.
A man and a woman have been charged with arson and intent to endanger life after the blaze, which is believed to have been started in Kayleigh's flat by accident - with another neighbour's home thought to be the intended target.
Sam Stockford, 29, of Watling Street in Dartford, and 24-year-old Jody Arney, of no fixed address, were charged today.
They are also accused of assaulting a police officer and have been remanded in custody to appear before Medway magistrates today.
The pair, and a second man, were taken into police custody after the incident in Wakefield Road at around 9.30pm on Saturday.
A 28-year-old man has since been released without charge.
About 20 firefighters spent an hour and a half tacking the blaze at the first-floor home.
The flat was empty and nobody was injured.
Officers and a team from Kent Fire and Rescue made inquiries in the local area.
A police spokesman, said: "This was an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the community."
Around £470 has been raised so far for the young family. To donate, visit the Go Fund Me Page here.
