Little Emilia Turner Bray is not just a bonny baby, she is officially a cute kid too.
The one-year-old has been crowned champion in the Messenger competition organised in conjunction with Starlight Studios, and it seems as if winning looks run in her family.
Emilia was entered for our Cute Kids competition by her delighted gran, Susanne Bray, who was equally proud almost 40 years ago when daughter – and Emilia’s mum – Emma, also won a cute baby contest.
Mrs Bray, 64, of Singlewell Road, Gravesend, who looks after Emilia five days a week, said: “Emma was about the same age as Emilia when she won but I would say Emilia looks like her great-grandad Frank when he was a baby.”
The gorgeous tot, who lives with mum Emma and dad, Calum Turner, in Covesfield, Gravesend, is Mrs Bray’s first grandchild.
She beat competition from dozens of other youngsters to win a share of the £500 prize money.
Readers were asked to back their favourite from the dozens of children who entered.
Text and post votes were combined and the children with the most went through to the final.
In second place was Lennie Reeves, who lives with his mum Mia Hinds and dad Richard Reeves in Vale Road, Northfleet.
Lennie, who will be six months old on Tuesday, looks as if he was born to be in front of the camera.
“He never stops smiling and everyone always comments about his dimples,” said a thrilled Miss Hinds.
“He loved having his photo taken and even the man taking them said he wished they were all like him.”
Taking third place was Paisley-Ray Obee, who will be six months old on July 8 and is the first child for mum Charlie Gaitens and dad Jayson Obee.
Asked why she entered Paisley-Ray, a very proud Miss Gaitens, of Gouge Avenue, Northfleet, said: “Because he’s just mine, isn’t he? But I think my great-nan was more pleased when I told her.”
A presentation to the winning tots will be held soon, when Starlight Studios, who took the photographs in the St George’s Shopping Centre, Gravesend, will offer special canvas prints.
