Cyclist airlifted to hospital

A cyclist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after coming off his bike early this morning.

Police and the emergency services were called out to Old Road East, in Gravesend, at about 7.35am where they found the man injured.

Paramedics and police called in the Kent Air Ambulance which was tasked to take the man to Kings College Hospital in London.

The road was closed between Milton Road and Pine Road, while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

No other details about the man have been released at this time.
