A cyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash with a car.

The collision happened on the A227 Wrotham Road, at Istead Rise near Gravesend.

A police spokesman said: “This was a collision involving a bicycle and a car.

“It was reported to us at 6.30pm yesterday (August 31).

“Police attended and the bike rider was taken to hospital.”

The injuries to the cyclist were not life-threatening, the spokesman added.

South East Coast Ambulance service has been approached for comment.

The crash caused both directions of the A227 to be partially blocked last night while emergency services were at the scene.
