Ebbsfleet United bounced back from their midweek humbling by Wrexham with a fine win at Darlington in Blue Square Bet Premier on Saturday.
Two goals in a minute shortly after the break were enough to bring the points home against crisis club Darlo - who could only name three substitutes on their bench, one of them a reserve keeper.
With Preston Edwards ruled out for the rest of the season as he needs surgery on a long-standing ankle injury, Lance Cronin was back between the posts for the long trip to the north east.
The visitors withstood some early pressure but Gozie Ugwu went close for Fleet with a lofted shot which crept past the post and saw another shot tipped round the post by Jordan Pickford.
Cronin made several smart saves at the other end to keep the hosts out before the break but four minutes after the interval Liam Enver-Marum (pictured) put Ebbsfleet ahead from six yards out after Tom Phipp had found Ugwu with a free-kick.
And Fleet's joy turned to euphoria less than 60 seconds later when Ugwu beat Pickford.
Cronin needed to keep the hosts out on more than one occasion, and the hosts rattled the crossbar, but Enver-Marum went close at the other end with a low drive just wide.
Fleet remain 14th, 13 points ahead of the drop zone, with nine games remaining.
