Dashcam footage captures moment rogue barrel crashes into van in Valley Drive, Gravesend

Dashcam footage has captured the moment a rogue barrel rolled out into the middle of moving traffic and crashed into a van.

The random incident happened just before 1pm last Friday (July 14) at the junction of Valley Drive and Marling Way in Gravesend.

Owner of the dashcam, Gerald McNeill said he was driving along when, without warning, what looked like a beer keg rolled down a hill and straight into the path of a passing van.

He told KentOnline: “I didn’t actually see where it came from but I believe it had fallen off the back of a truck that was pulling out on to Valley Drive from Marling Way heading towards the A2.”

While there was luckily no damage to Gerald’s car the van it crashed into almost lost its front bumper and caused other exterior damage.

Gerald is keen to offer his dashcam footage to the owner of the damaged vehicle and is asking the van driver to get in touch via social media.
