The family of a man who lost his battle with Covid-19 at the age of 59 have paid a touching tribute.
Trevor Gardiner was a much-loved dad to daughters Emma and Cheryl and doting granddad to his grandsons Charlie, eight, and Alfie, aged one.
Trevor had married just four months ago and lived with his new wife Sally in Gravesend.
The couple, who both worked at a car dealership in Sidcup, both developed symptoms of the virus.
But Trevor, a Type 2 diabetes sufferer, grew more ill, collapsing at home before being taken to Darent Valley Hospital where he died.
His family remember him for his love of music – he used to run a DJ business spinning his favourite 80s discs. He was also fond of motorbikes and cars and gained the nickname of Turbo Trev.
He grew up with parents Richard and Phoebe in Croydon and his youngest daughter Cheryl, 30, still lives in the area. Emma, 37, lives with husband Kieran in Gloucester with their two sons.
Emma was a witness and bridesmaid at their wedding at Leeds Castle last December.
In a joint statement, the family said: "We are devastated that he was taken away from us too soon, but he will always live on through his children and grandchildren."
