Demolition continued at Tilbury Power Station with another controlled explosion this morning.
A large explosion could be heard in Gravesend and smoke could be seen rising shortly after 10am.
The second explosive demolition brought down half the Turbine Hall, which housed the four 350MW units that powered the coal-fired station when it was operational.
But it wasn't quite the same spectacle as last September's explosion - which brought down parts of the station clearly visible from Gravesend.
Since the beginning of last year, RWE’s principal contractor Brown and Mason has been progressing with the demolition. Works are now completed on the site of the former older A Station.
The other main structures such as the chimneys, boiler house, turbine hall and bunker house are due for explosive demolition later this year. More details will be revealed nearer the time.
The demolition of the whole site is expected to be completed towards the end of 2018.
