Diversions are in place for Bluewater and Ebbsfleet International as work begins to resurface A2

Work gets underway tonight to resurface the A2 between Bean and Ebbsfleet.

Highways England will be working on sections of the eastbound road over the next four weeks, which will see overnight carriageway and slip road closures.

The eastbound A2 will be closed between the Bean (B255) and Ebbsfleet (B259) junctions, with a diversion via the B255, A226 and B259.

It will also be shut between the exit and entry slip roads at the Bean junction, with another diversion in place via the exit and entry slip roads.

The diversions will be in place on different nights to provide access to Bluewater and Ebbsfleet International.

Highways England asset manager for Kent Kevin Bown said: “We will be resurfacing sections of the A2 to provide safe and reliable journeys for the hundreds of thousands of drivers that rely on the A2 each day.

"We have carefully planned the work to take place overnight, when we know traffic flows are lowest to minimise disruption.”
