Kent County Cricket Club fan Willem Purdy snaps picture of dog-shaped cloud above A2 near Gravesend

For many motorists the A2 is an uninspiring scene of traffic and tarmac but one young man captured an image you won't see every day.

Cricket fan Willem Purdy, 21, was travelling back to Gravesend from Kent's T20 Blast quarter- final loss at home to Lancashire on Saturday, August 15 when he spotted a cloud shaped like an animal - maybe a cow or a dog - leaping over the sun.

He took the image on his mum Angela's phone to end the journey on a high note after the Spitfires missed out on a place at finals day on Saturday.

Angela said: "We were coming down the A2 when we saw it. The phrase is when the cow jumped over the moon but this looks like the dog leaping over the sun.

"When the kids were younger we played the game where you guess what the clouds look like so we decided to take a picture."
