NO NEED to worry - it is not a real emergency.

People driving past the old Gravesend police station on Tuesday may have got a shock after spotting Woodville Place cordoned off with a bomb disposal squad and Kent Police in action.

But their presence was all in aid of a counter-terrorism exercise, to test the responsiveness and capability of emergency services and other agencies to deal with a major incident.

Other similar exercises which have been planned over several months are taking place during this week.
