A suspected drink driver spotted threatening people with a large knife has been arrested.

Police were called to reports of a motorist brandishing the weapon in London Road, Northfleet at around 11.50am this morning.

The vehicle was found shortly after and a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, assault, possession of a knife in a public place, drink driving and driving while under the influence of drugs.

The man, who is from Rochester, has since been bailed to appear at Medway Police Station on 2 January 2022 while further enquiries are carried out.
