A driver's been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 72-year-old passenger died in a two-car crash on the A2.
The crash victim was in a Honda Jazz when it was in an accident with a black Vauxhall Corsa just before 4pm yesterday after the slip road junctions at the A2 Londonbound at Pepperhill, Gravesend.
The woman was declared dead at the scene, while the Honda Jazz driver, a 57-year-old woman, and another passenger - a 73-year-old woman - were taken to hospital with serious injures.
The Vauxhall Corsa passenger, who is 29, was taken to hospital with suspected leg injuries, while the car's driver, a 30-year-old man from Dartford, had minor injuries.
He was arrested, and has been bailed until November 11 for further police inquiries.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Scott Lynch of the serious investigation crash unit, said: "This is a busy road and there is likely to be a number of people who witnessed this collision as they travelled along the A2 Londonbound past the Pepperhill slips.
"I am urging anyone who saw what happened to call our witness line on 01622 798538."
