A DJ who flaunted his wealth from drug dealing has been jailed after police discovered heroin factories in Gravesend.
Police found photos on a laptop computer of Jermaine Ford-Simpson flashing bundles of cash and wearing expensive watches.
The 26-year-old father, known as Jam Jam, admitted two charges of conspiracy to supply drugs and has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years for his part in a major heroin and crack cocaine conspiracy.
Maidstone Crown Court heard raids on two addresses at Phoenix Court, Northfleet, uncovered 1.5 kilos of heroin, with an estimated street value of more than £60,000.
Police also seized 16.5 kilos of paracetamol powder used to “cut” the drug before being supplied and a 10-tonne hydraulic press to turn it into blocks during last February's visit.
Another raid was carried out at Baltic Wharf, Gravesend, in May, where more heroin, cocaine and a large amount of money was discovered. Danny Moore, prosecuting, said the total amount of the drugs at 100 per cent purity was 464 grammes.
Kent Police say Ford-Simpson was identified by detectives from their Serious and Organised Crime Unit as being a "significant player and conspirator of an organised crime group" operating in Kent. A media appeal in June and subsequent phone call to Crimestoppers led to his arrest.
At Monday’s hearing, Judge Andrew Patience QC told Ford-Simpson, of Clapton, east London: “I have no doubt you played a significant and crucial part in this conspiracy.”
D’Andre Gunn, 25, of no fixed address, was jailed for two years and four months in December after admitting a conspiracy charge.
Two other men, Christopher Reid, 24, of Tottenham, north London, and Ismail Samater, 27, of Stoke Newington, north London, were previously cleared.
