Liam Daish's future at Ebbsfleet looks assured as he is poised to sign a new one-year contract extension this week which will keep him at Stonebridge Road until 2011.

The move, instigated by new chairman Duncan Holt (pictured), has been verbally agreed by Daish after MyFootballClub members approved a performance-related deal.

It means that Daish’s salary will be determined by success on the field and offers varied percentage increases depending on whether the Fleet get promoted, reach the play-offs or finish in the top half of the Blue Square Premier in 2010/11.

If none of these is achieved, then his earnings next season will remain the same as at present.

"Since I became chairman I have wanted to put something in place which is better for the security of both parties," said Mr Holt.

The new contract will include a compensation agreement should Daish wish to leave the club, a clause that the board will look favourably on if any approach for his services are made by a Football League club and an agreed amount if Ebbsfleet should terminate his contract.

Mr Holt added that the changes would reduce speculation about Daish’s future and enhanced the Fleet’s ability to make long-term plans.
