Ebbsfleet's run of three Blue Square Premier wins in a row came to an end at hands of Histon at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night.
A second half goal from Daniel Wright was enough to give the visitors their first league win this year.
Fleet made the better start to the game and in-form Magno Vieira had early chances to give his side the lead.
Histon came back into the game and forced four corners in a row before Michael Frew's cross clipped the bar.
The only goal of the game came when Frew got through the Fleet defence and crossed the ball for Wright to net in the 72nd minute.
Fleet went close to equalising twice in stoppage time. Vieira shot wide from a goalmouth scramble and then four Fleet players hit shots against Histon defenders on the goalline but the ball did not go in.
The home side almost fell further behind at the death when Andrew Tidswell’s shot hit the bar.
