Ebbsfleet squandered an early lead on their way to a ninth Blue Square Bet Premier home defeat, losing 2-1 against improving Alfreton at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night.
Liam Enver-Marum (pictured) fired them in front after only six minutes, but goals either side of half-time by Adam Cunnington and Josh Law turned the game the visitors way, as they continued their climb up the table and moved to within five points of the Fleet.
Both teams made a lively start, before Gozie Ugwu put Enver-Marum away and he finished well to beat goalkeeper Jon Stewart.
Adam Cunnington headed Alfreton level 10 minutes before the break and Law curled in the second three minutes after half-time.
Fleet twice went close to grabbing an equaliser through substitutes Nathanial Pinney and Calum Willock on a frustrating and disappointing night for Liam Daish's men.
