Ebbsfleet lost 4-2 at home to fellow Blue Square Bet Premier strugglers Barrow on Saturday.
Fleet rallied from three goals down at half-time and scored twice inside four minutes of the restart through Tom Phipp’s strike from outside the area and a Nathan Elder header.
Their hopes of salvaging a point were boosted when the visitors had Sean Hessey sent off for two yellow cards in as many minutes.
But Barrow wrapped up the points when Richie Barker added to a first-half double by completing his hat-trick in the 63rd minute.
The defeat leaves Liam Daish's side 22nd in the table ahead of a home match against Woking on Tuesday night.
