Phil Walsh's header claimed a deserved point as Ebbsfleet hit back to claim a draw in Blue Square Bet Premier on Tuesday.

Despite taking the lead through Joe Howe, pictured, the Fleet struggled for long periods of the first half against a dominant Woking side but turned the tables after the break.

A bright start by the hosts saw Moses Ashikodi shoot just wide before Howe's spectacular finish gave them the perfect start in the eighth minute.

But the defensive concerns that have blighted the Fleet in recent weeks quickly came to the fore again.

The equaliser arrived on 17 minutes. The Fleet backed off and allowed Woking too much time to attack. With the visitors looking for a penalty for handball, everyone freezed except Jack Parkinson, who latched on to the second ball to fire high into the roof of the net.

Four minutes later the Fleet were behind as keeper Preston Edwards came for a right-wing cross he never looked like claiming and Brett Johnson headed Woking in front.

Woking dominated thereafter but created few clear-cut chances until the final minute of the half when Edwards fumbled a low drive and Parkinson was only denied his second by a timely Ram Marwa challenge.

The visitors had another chance to wrap the points up early in the second half but Edwards made amends for his first-half error with a fine save to deny Bradley Bubb.

It seemed a crucial point in the game as the Fleet suddenly started to believe and they attacked with more purpose.

However, it was not until 15 minutes from time that they drew themselves level when Walsh headed in substitute Ben Greenhalgh's corner.

Two minutes later, Greenhalgh ran at the visiting defence to brilliantly create an opportunity out of nothing, only to fail to produce a finish at the end of it.

Then, Ashikodi's long-range drive was touched on to the post by keeper Aaron Howe, although referee Adam Bromley gave a goal kick.

Both sides continued to have chances in the final minutes but it was the visitors who were most grateful to hear the final whistle.
