Calum Willock scored twice as Ebbsfleet United finally broke their home Blue Square Premier duck of the season with a win over bottom club Bath City at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday.
Fleet were boosted by the return of skipper Paul Lorraine, starting a match for the first time this season after a wrist operation in the summer, and earned their first clean sheet to move out of the bottom four.
Willock put Fleet ahead after 24 minutes when he deflected home Tom Phipp’s fierce drive.
On-loan Charlton defender Yado Mambo headed against the crossbar and the returning Michael West went close twice.
West got Fleet’s second eight minutes after the break with a neat finish, and then Willock got his second of the night 18 minutes from time by heading in Craig Stone’s cross.
Substitute Ricky Shakes almost got a fourth and Willock missed out on completing his hat-trick late on.
