Life in Blue Square Bet Premier is coming to an end for Ebbsfleet and manager Liam Daish admits the demands of the division have proved too much for the club.
On the field, the Fleet have spent almost the whole season inside the relegation zone and off it, competing in the fifth tier of English football has severely stretched the club’s finances.
Since their last relegation, three years ago, Ebbsfleet have operated with a part-time playing squad.
Daish (pictured) said: "Maybe this league’s too strong for us. I’m not talking just on the pitch, I’m talking as a club, the travelling, our status.
"I know there are teams above us that are safe this year that have the same status but let’s see where they are in 10 years if they haven’t progressed or got investment in. You hit a brick wall."
On Saturday, the Fleet host AFC Telford United in their penultimate home game.
