Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish has thanked MyFootballClub members for their swift response in backing his request to bolster the playing budget at Stonebridge Road.
The Fleet boss got the quick decision he wanted as a yes vote was returned within two days, enabling him to bring in John Herd and Alex Stavrinou before the start of the season.
In addition, MyFootballClub members raised just under £3,000 in donations, a figure that was topped up by hundreds more from the Fleet Trust and supporters’ donations.
Daish (pictured) said: "I am glad of the support and appreciative of everyone’s efforts.
"It’s important for the club we get players in but we have lost one (Tom Phipp) already due to suspension and it’s going to be at least another month before Paul Lorraine (wrist) will be able to do any contact work."
The budget boost helped Daish add former Southend defender, 20-year-old Herd and ex-Charlton midfielder Stavrinou, 21, to his squad.
Daish said: "I am more aware than anyone of the financial limitations that face the club. I believe that a good start to our campaign with a competitive squad will benefit the club.
"I am not in this league to make up the numbers and want the team to kick on. I hope members share this ambition."
Fleet end a tough opening week to the new season with a trip to relegated Stockport, managed by former Liverpool Champions League winner Dietmar Hamann, on Saturday before hosting Newport on Tuesday night at Stonebridge Road.
