Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish has welcomed the return of Moses Ashikodi, two years after leaving the club.

The 25-year-old Lagos-born striker completed his move on Monday afternoon, as Daish begins the task of rebuilding his strike-force, after Liam Enver-Marum (Stevenage) and Ricky Shakes (Kidderminster) followed Calum Willock out of Stonebridge Road last week.

Meanwhile Michael West, strongly linked with a move to the Football League, was due back with the rest of the Fleet squad for pre-season training on Tuesday.

Much-travelled Ashikodi scored 11 goals in 16 games for Fleet in 2010, and finished last season with Conference play-off winners and FA Trophy champions York, before being released in May.

Daish (pictured) said: "Moses signed on Monday in a deal that suits both parties, and he wants to resurrect his career. He did well when he was last here and I see him as a replacement for Liam (Enver-Marum).

"He and Ricky were good members of the squad, and it’s never easy when players like that leave, but I am putting things in place, and continuing to talk to players. I have got five or six coming in to join us for pre-season."

Daish also believes that West will move on soon saying: "Clubs are still showing an interest in Michael, and I still expect him to be away by the start of the season."

Injured trio, goalkeeper Preston Edwards and midfielders Ram Marwa and Giannoulis Fakinos, were also due back on Tuesday.

Edwards missed the end of last season following ankle surgery, Marwa suffered a broken kneecap and Fakinos hasn’t played since last October, before undergoing an operation to repair his cartilage and anterior cruciate ligament this year.
