Monday’s FA Trophy second round draw paired Ebbsfleet with former Conference rivals Chester.
The home draw is a godsend for the Fleet coffers, with only two league matches scheduled for Stonebridge Road next month.
The pairing revives memories of the England-Welsh border club’s demise last year, when they were expelled from the Conference and had their record expunged. Fleet lost points as a result, culminating in their relegation.
Daish (pictured) was angry at the time and admitted this week: "It still rankles with me. People in power knew the facts about Chester’s plight, decisions and votes were taken at the time but clubs all had different agendas, some lost no points and other lost lots and it was a farce.
"It was a long tough season in Conference South but we got back and turned a negative into a positive."
