A 74-year-old woman died after the car she was driving crashed into a wall in a Kent town.

A female pedestrian aged 28 was also involved in the incident, which happened in Windmill Street, Gravesend.

The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Darent Valley Hospital and the pedestrian was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police, the ambulance service and Thames-side fire crews were at the scene.

The woman who died has not yet been named. The crash took place at around 6pm on Wednesday.
