People claiming to be police officers have been committing burglaries in Gravesend.
Kent Police is reminding residents to stay safe after they received several reports of people pretending to be officers before entering victims' houses.
On Saturday November 26 Kent Police received a report that two men had entered a house in Lawrence Drive, Gravesend, between 10.20pm and 10.33pm.
They claimed to be plain clothed police officers but are believed to have gained entry by smashing a key safe off the outside wall.
The victim, a 74-year-old woman, heard her front door open and the two men said there had been a burglary at the rear of the house.
She ushered the men away and they left without taking any items.
Both suspects were described as white males, One of them was a 40 to 50-year-old with dark hair and wearing a dark waterproof type jacket.
The second suspect was described as younger and shorter but also wearing a waterproof type jacket.
On the same day, Kent Police received another report of two men knocking on a door in Tennyson Walk, Gravesend, between 11pm and 11.25pm claiming to be police officers.
The men told the victim, a woman in her eighties, there had been a burglary before asking if she had any valuables in the house.
She let them in and the suspects searched each room looking in drawers and cupboards.
The men left and said they would be back but didn't return.
They are alleged to have stolen a purse and a back door key.
Both suspects were described as white men, one in his thirties and the other younger.
