A BOY of 14 has died in hospital after crashing his motorbike in woods at Istead Rise near Gravesend.

The boy was riding his bike at around 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday. He was taken by ambulance to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford where he died.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The boy had been wearing safety equipment at the time.

The police are conducting a full investigation on behalf of the coroner. A spokesman for North Kent Police said: “The family are obviously devastated at this tragic event.”
