Liberty X announced as headline act for Gravesham Riverside Festival

A popular girls band will be headlining the town's festival this year.

Liberty X, a group that were formed out of the ITV show Popstars, will be headlining the Gravesend Riverside Festival this summer.

They had international success with their Just a Little single, as well as achieving ten consecutive UK top 20 singles.

Crowds flocked to the festival last year making it Kent's biggest free festival.

This July people can enjoy live music on the main stage, sporting activities in the active zone and some vintage entertainment and market in Fort Gardens.

Melanie Norris, Gravesham council's director for communities, said: “The free, family friendly Riverside Festival, has grown each year and has become one of the best summer days out you’ll find in Kent.

“I am really pleased we have Liberty X headlining this year which will be a great end to what will be a fantastic day."

Other acts to hit the mainstage include some well-known tribute acts, including Meet Loaf - The World Class Tribute, Donna Marie as Lady Gaga and Arian Grande tribute Amilia.

More acts are set to be announced.

The festival returns to the town at Riverside Leisure Area, in Milton Place, Gravesend, on Saturday July 6, from 11am to 7pm.
