Fire crews tackled a blaze nearly the size of two football pitches in a field.
About 20 firefighters rushed to the scene in Thong Lane, Shorne, near Gravesend, this afternoon.
Five fire engines used hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish stubble blaze, which covered about 200 sq m.
Crews worked with the farmer, who used a tractor to create a fire break around the edge of the field.
The fire, which started shortly before 6pm, was extinguished just before 7pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
No injuries were reported.
